Space Jam 2 is happening

Well, probably.

Warner Bros. filed new trademarks for 'Space Jam' and then inked a deal with LeBron James shortly thereafter, leading to rampant speculation that 'The King' would be following in M.J.'s footsteps in the Space Jam series.


The original Space Jam holds a special place in 1990's basketball culture, spawning a soundtrack, clothing, sneakers, video games, and tons of toys. A follow up could have a similar impact on the current generation.

Will Swackhammer aim to get his revenge on this generation's Jordan? Which of today's current crop will have their skill set stolen by the Monstars? Will a second film spawn sneakers anywhere near as nice as the Space Jam 11?

We will have to wait and see, but for now, it sure looks like what began as an internet rumor may develop into a reality.
