Jahlil Okafor is the early Rookie of the Year favorite

He was the only third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, but Jahlil Okafor is the early Rookie of the Year favorite, according to Bovada.


Okafor edges out fellow top-three picks D'Angelo Russell and Karl Anthony-Towns in the extremely early projection.

If he were to be named the Rookie of the Year, Okafor would be the second Sixer in three years to win the award. Michael Carter-Williams won the award in 2014, while Nerlens Noel came in third in voting in 2015. Andrew Wiggins is the reigning Rookie of the Year.

Interestingly enough, Okafor isn't the only Sixer with decent odds to win the award, as Joel Embiid, who is technically still a rookie as he did not play a single second last season, is given ten to one odds.
