76ers Distancing Themselves From Sam Hinkie

You know those bad break-ups? The ones where you don't want to be reminded of it so you delete all evidence of the others' existence. Well, that's the Sixers and former General Manager Sam Hinkie right now.

Hinkie recently resigned from the Sixers amidst marginalization, and the Sixers are not taking it so well.

At Friday's game against the Knicks, a fan set to shoot a halfcourt shot was wearing a 'Hinkie' jersey. He was forced to take it off by the team prior to shooting the shot.

The Sixers didn't stop there however.  Hinkie-related content has also been removed from the team's official website.

It is clear that the Sixers are trying to move on from the Sam Hinkie era, which is understandable, but to demand the same from the fan base is unfair, when mere weeks ago they were imploring the same fans to put their trust in, and ergo support, Hinkie. How quickly things change.
