Will the 76ers Win Again This Season?

The 76ers quest for a double-digit win count continues. After a heart-breaking last-second loss to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday evening, Philadelphia's win total sits still at 9.


With only a full finger count of games remaining in the season, the question becomes not when the Sixers will win their next game, but if the Sixers will win another game. Philadelphia has won once in March, and with Jahlil Okafor sidelined for the remainder of the season, and several of their upcoming opponents in a playoff push, another W will be difficult to come by.




One more win would prevent the 2015-16 Sixers from tying the NBA's mark for futility in a single season - held by the 1972-73 Sixers; a distinction that would be nice to avoid.

The 76ers best opportunity to secure a win may come on April 5 at home against a Pelicans team that has had its own fair share of disappointment this season, and recently shut down their do-it-all All-Star, Anthony Davis, for the remainder of the year.

Consecutive games against two other teams out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture - Knicks, Bucks - may provide another opportunity to snag a win. The possibility of the Raptors or Bulls resting players for the NBA's second season, also known as the playoffs, provides the Sixers' last shimmer of hope for another win in the 2015-16 NBA season.

Despite the eventual outcomes, the Sixers play hard on a nightly basis, and the motivation of avoiding the [wrong side of the] history book should be enough to generate a single win in the season's twilight.

Whatever the Sixers final record is though, it is safe to assume that the roster will look vastly different at next season's start.
