Kevin Durant advises Joel Embiid

Kevin Durant knows a little bit about injury issues. The former NBA MVP missed 55 games last season dealing with a Jones fracture in his right foot that eventually required bone graft surgery; the same procedure Sixers center Joel Embiid is expected to undergo in the near future.

Thus, it is not so surprising to learn that Embiid, who faces the prospect of being sidelined for a second consecutive season, reached out to Durant to get some information and advice on the process.

Per Sheridanhoops.com, Durant informed Embiid that the hardest part of the surgery would come in the days immediately after the surgery, when he would be unable to walk on the foot.

"He's going to miss the stuff he takes for granted,'' Durant said. "Just walking around the house, being able to take a shower."

Generously enough, Durant also told Embiid that he could reach out to him any time he wanted to following the surgery - an offer Embiid will likely take him up on.

Durant, who underwent the surgery on March 31, is expected to play on opening night. It remains unknown when and where Embiid will have own surgery.
