Michael Carter-Williams won the NBA’s Rookie of the Month
award four out of a possible six times this past season, and it appears as
though his rookie season will be capped with another accolade.
Carter-Williams will be named the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year.
The award comes as no surprise, as Carter-Williams led all
rookies in rebounding, scoring, assists, steals, and double-doubles, while
averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 assists, and 6.2 rebounds per game.
Carter-Williams’ inspired play was one of the few bright
spots in what was a struggle of a season for the Sixers, who haven’t had a
Rookie of the Year award-winner since Allen Iverson.
‘MC-W,’ as he has been labeled by the Philadelphia faithful,
was the 11th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, which he declared for after
two seasons at Syracuse.
Now all we need is an official announcement.
