Revisit: Photos of Andrew Bynum bowling in Manayunk

If you know me somewhat well, then you know I reside in Manayunk, right on the outside of the City of Brotherly Love.

There's not too much in Manayunk except a mess of bars and/or restaurants with enough food and drink to put the entire city into a stupor. Which isn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong, but as far as sports news, that's mostly generated about 15 miles away at the bottom of Broad Street.

Sure, Lou Williams got held up at gunpoint in the Yunk, and Sammy Dalembert used to live on Main Street, but it's usually pretty quiet on the breaking sports news front.

That is until Andrew Bynum came to town.

Everyone knows by now that Andrew Bynum hurt his knee and basically killed his comeback with the Sixers by bowling. What not everyone knows however, is that he hurt his knee bowling at an old, 8-lane, BYOB alley named Hi-Spot in the heart of Manayunk.

Honestly, the alley is pretty awesome. It has a neighborhood-y feel, stays open late, especially on weekends, and has a fridge to keep the beverages you brought cold. I have been there several times since Andrew's incident, and every time, I alert whoever I am with that this is in fact the infamous alley where the Sixers' center further damaged his knee and screwed the Sixers for the foreseeable future.

Some were surprised, some didn't believe me, and some just didn't care. I guess not everyone is as infatuated with the Sixers' screw-ups as I am.

But anyway, I was digging around on the internet today, and found pictures of the infamous evening. Finally, photo evidence of Bynum's big body crammed into Manayunk's prized Hi-Spot Lanes.

(I found the images on Crossingbroad.com on this here article: http://www.crossingbroad.com/2012/11/and-now-those-pictures-of-andrew-bynum-bowling-you-havent-been-waiting.html).
