Everything you need to know about NBA fines

"The NBA recently announced that flopping will be fined more harshly during the playoffs. Specifically, there will be no warning for flopping; just an immediate $5,000 fine."

Most every NBA fan has a feeling about the increased flopping fines, some in favor, while others feel that it is making the game too soft.

Regardless, the NBA has made it clear that they are not playing this postseason when it comes to flopping and other fines.

In light of this announced fine increase, the people over at SeatCrunch have developed a fascinating visualization piece breaking down (in a bunch of cool-looking ways) all of the NBA fines handed down over the past decade.

The piece examines in detail which players, coaches, and teams have been fined the most, and the things they did to deserve the deductions.

Criticizing refs is the most common cause for a fine. Not surprisingly, 'improper' use of social media has landed a plethora of players, coaches, and owners a fat fine also.

Violation of the League's drug policy has also caused problems for some players, including Damon Stoudamire, who was hit hard for the possession of his favorite plant.

Make sure to check out the original article for a lot more awesome information about NBA fines that you never knew you wanted to know, and keep an eye out for flopping fines in the NBA Playoffs.
